Kathmandu, September 8
Madheshi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic has finally decided to join the Prachanda-led government. After completion of PM Prachanda’s India visit, the party will send two ministers and two ministers for state to the government.
Party President Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar became ready to make the party a part of the government to prevent a split. Talking to journallists on Wednesday, Gachchhadar said he is preparing to send two ministers and two state ministers to the government.
Gachchhadar had said his party will join the government only if it gets two ministries, including a deputy prime minister’s position.
But Gachchhadar relented after other leaders appeared bent on splitting MJF-D if it does not join the Prachanda administration, accusing him of trying to keep the party out of the government if he does not get the chance to join it.
Gachchhadar said he will try to secure ministries related to development/construction for his party. Talks on the selection of ministries are yet to begin.
Other leaders, including Jitendra Narayan Dev, are in favour of joining the government, regardless of portfolios.
