Congress wins ward chairperson through lucky draw in Salyan village

Salyan, May 16

After candidates of Nepali Congress and CPN-UML garnered highest and equal votes in the election of ward chairperson in Dhorchaur Rural Municipality in Salyan district, the leader has been selected through a lucky draw.

NC candidate Dinesh BM has been declared the chairperson of Dhorchaur Rural Municipality-4 after the lucky draw.

BC and UML’s Devendra Roka had polled 321 votes each.

Meanwhile, UML’s Chitra Bahadur Chalaune won the chief of the Rural Municipality by defeating Maoist Centre’s Narabir Chalaune.

Chitra Bahadur had garnered 1,925 against Narabir’s 1,538.

UML’s Pushpa Bohora edged Maoist Centre’s Bhumi Budhathoki to win the position of vice-chairperson.
