Two persons died when a vehicle received an electric shock in Kumakh rural municipality of the Salyan district in Karnali on Monday. Other 10 people have been injured.
The vehicle was carrying people coming to attend a victory rally following the declaration of the local election results there. The alliance between the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress had won the local leadership.
Police say the vehicle that was heading to Shantibajaar from Basnetjyula hit an electricity pole, resulting in the accident.
When a naked electricity wire touched the vehicle, the people travelling on the roof of the vehicle received an electric shock, died and were injured. The victims are yet to be identified.
The injured have been taken to the Chaurjahari Hospital in Rukum for further treatment.
