Kathmandu, November 13
The Investment Board Nepal says it will prepare the detailed project report for proposed Naagdhunga-Dhulikhel metro railway.
A meeting of the board presided over by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba at his residence in Baluwatar made the decision.
The meeting also assigned the Board itself to carry out a feasibility study for the project.
Earlier, the Board had presented a report of the study it carried out recently. The report had suggested that two railway routes be developed in Kathmandu and the Board take the responsibility for the first one.
Officials of the Board say they want to construct the project in the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) model.
The Board says the Department of Railways will be asked to work for the second route stretching from Budhanilakantha of Kathmandu to the end point of Kathmandu-Terai fast track in Lalitpur.
