Kathmandu, November 13
Police at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu have arrested four Chinese nationals in possession of illegal mobile phones and SIM cards in a huge amount on Friday.
Police confiscated 420 SIM cards of Nepali telecommunications providers and 26 mobile phones from them. They were about to board a flight to Dubai of the United Arab Emirates.
Police have suspected that they might be involved in illegal call bypassing using VOIP and GOIP technologies. However, the Metropolitan Crime Division’s chief SSP Deepak Thapa says he could not find any evidence of it.
Therefore, the division sent them back to the airport police, according to him.
