Kathmandu, February 26
Devotees can now make monetary offerings at the Pashupatinath temple by scanning a QR code with their mobile phone.
The offers can be made at four different places of the Pashupatinath area, including the south entrance gate, the shoe and slipper room, and the main temple premises.
The monetary offering could be deposited at the bank account of Pashupati Area Development Trust by using an online payment system also.
It is hoped that the system would help control the misuse of monetary offerings.
An agreement in this regard has been signed today between the PADT and Bank of Kathmandu Ltd.
Inaugurating the QR code system today, the Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari said that this system should be developed across the nation. He laid emphasis on the need for creating awareness across the nation in this regard.
