Kathmandu, March 4

Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan Tapas Adhikari has highlighted the need for operating direct flights between Nepal and Pakistan.

Addressing a function organised by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Islamabad on Wednesday, the ambassador said Pakistan International Airlines should conduct a study about the possibility of direct flights. He was of the view that the two countries had a large possibility of promoting trade relations, and direct flights would be of great help.

“It will also help the countries end unemployment and improve the quality of life of the peoples,” he said, adding both of the countries boast tall mountains that make the possibility of tourism cooperation wide open.

“Industrialists and traders of Pakistan should visit Nepal. I will also make efforts to bring Nepali businesspersons here.”
