Kathmandu, May 23
A group of the cadres of the Nepal Student Union, the student wing of the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, have staged a protest outside the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas, Kathmandu on Sunday.
The union says it staged the protest against the dissolution of the House of Representatives that the president declared in the wee hours of Sunday.
Police, however, interfered in the demonstration and detained the protesters.
The opposition parties including the main opposition have been claiming the dissolution is unconstitutional. They are preparing to file a writ petition at the Supreme Court today itself.
