Two persons died on the spot when a trailer truck carrying a crane touched an electric wire at Solududhkunda municipality-8 of the Solukhumbu district on Friday morning.
The trailer truck (Ga 1 Ka 5173) was heading towards Pokhara from Solukhumbu when it happened to touch the 33-KV transmission line, says the District Police Office chief DSP Kabit Katawal.
Katawal shares that the crane driver Ram Bahadur Pariyar, 24, of Syanjya district and trailer truck driver, Bhumiraj Marani, 26, of Badiganga rural municipality-5 in Baglung district died on the spot.
The crane being used for 86-megawatt under-construction hydropower at Solu River was being taken towards Pokhara for maintenance.
Similarly, assistant to drivers–Basanta Poudel, 18, of Malika rural municipality in Gulmi and 24-year-old Lila Pariyar of Syanjya–sustained minor injuries in the incident and have been sent to District Hospital, Phaplu for treatment.
