Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,328 new cases, 3,066 recoveries, 19 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 681,136 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,328 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,837 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,527 returned positive. Likewise, 4,296 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 801 tested positive.

As of today, there are 27,716 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,041 are hospitalised, 627 in intensive care units and 181 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 3,066 people have achieved recovery whereas 19 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 606666 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,198 died, according to the ministry. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 94.3 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.

So far, only 757,962 people have received both their doses of either Covishield or Verocell.
