Nepal has nearly 5 million Covid vaccines in stock.
As the number of Covid cases has gone down, the number of people wanting to get the shots has decreased over the past months, says the Department of Health Services.
According to Dr Surendra Chaurasia, the head of the supply section of the Department of Health Services, there are currently 4,921,632 vaccines in stock.
He informed the demand for vaccines had gone down because the infection rate was decreasing.
According to the department, Verocell has the biggest share of vaccines in stock. It states it has around 4.36 million doses of Verocell, 60,756 doses of Pfizer and 494,710 doses of Pfizer (for children) vaccines.
Less than 10 people are infected on a daily basis in Nepal. Nepal had around 63.2 million doses of Covid vaccines.
The government says 99.5 per cent of the total target population has received the first dose and 95.7 per cent have received the full doses.
Similarly, 79.5 per cent of the total population have received the first dose and 76.5 per cent have received the full doses.
