It has been six and a half months since the then prime minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the new Dharahara beside the remains of the old Dharahara collapsed during the 2015 earthquake. However, 43 per cent of the construction works are yet to be done for the project.
The National Reconstruction Authority says the financial progress made in the project following the inauguration on April 24, 2021, is also miserable. When the project had spent 54 per cent of the allocated budget by that time, the figure has reached 56 per cent now.
Raman Construction, the company assigned for the project, has received nearly Rs 100 million only in the past six and a half months.
The authority’s spokesperson Manohar Ghimire says the progress has been slow as the authority officials were also busy concluding their works as the authority is soon going to be dissolved.
Officials inform works related to underground parking, lighting, painting and information technology are yet to be done at the site.
