The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 1,116,887 as of Friday afternoon.
The ministry said 126 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.
In this period, 7,091 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 111 returned positive. Likewise, 1,842 underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 15 tested positive.
Of total tests, 1.56 per cent of the PCR and 0.81 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 1.41 per cent.
As of today, there are 7,242 active cases across the country. Of them, 143 are hospitalised, 54 in intensive care units and 10 on ventilators.
In the past 24 hours, 385 people have achieved recovery whereas the government says there was one death today.
Of the total cases so far, 958,193 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,945 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 98 per cent and the death rate is 1.2 per cent.
Meanwhile, 37,192 people were vaccinated today.
