Amazfit GTR 3 Pro in Nepal: Does ‘the best offer’ justify the price?

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is the latest release and is the 3rd generation smartwatch from Amazfit. The Amazfit GTR 3 Pro was released along with Amazfit GTR 3 and Amazfit GTS 3 recently. Brother Mart Pvt Ltd, the authorised distributor of Amazfit products in Nepal right now, has made the watch available here as well.

Amazfit is a popular brand when it comes to wearables and has launched various models in the past as well. 

GTR 3 Pro is the best offering from Amazfit in the latest lineup. This watch offers a lot of exciting and beneficial health features to the users. It has features like long battery life, AMOLED display, a lighter body, 150+ sports mode, 150+ watch faces and many more.

Let’s get into the details and know more about the watch and know if all the features of the watch justify its price.

Specifications

Design and display

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro flaunts a classical circular display like the ones in GTR 2e. The round body on the watch is made from aircraft-grade aluminium alloy. This makes the watch durable and lightweight. Without the strap, the watch weighs 32 grams only. The watch has 2 buttons on the side. The top button can be used for navigation and the bottom one for selecting exercise modes.

The watch also has a 5 ATM rating allowing for comfortable use during rainfall or even swimming. There is an option to choose between two strap options: infinite black and brown leather.

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro features a 1.45-inch AMOLED display that has a resolution of 480*480 pixels and a 70.6% screen-to-body ratio. The watch can also achieve a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits. This allows the easy use of the watch even during the daytime. The user can choose over 150+ watch faces and 15 of them come with animation while 23 of them are editable. The user can even transfer the image from their device to create a watch face of their own. There is also an always-on display feature on the watch.

Health and fitness tracking     

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro offers a wide variety of health and fitness tracking features for users. The watch has over 150 fitness modes including combat sports, dance, ball sports, water sports, winter sports and even tools to monitor board and card games to choose from. The watch also has smart recognition of eight sports which includes outdoor running, indoor walking, walking, treadmill, outdoor cycling, rowing machine, elliptical and pool swimming. The watch will keep track of the metrics of heart rate, calories burned and more during all the fitness modes.

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro claims to offer more accurate and efficient data. It features an advanced 6PD (six photodiodes) bio tracker PPF3.0 biometric sensor that allows the watch to track multiple health metrics at the same time. It features tons of sensors for different health and tracking features. The sensors on the watch include an acceleration sensor, gyroscope sensor, geomagnetic sensor, barometric altimeter, ambient light sensor and temperature sensor.

Furthermore, the watch can monitor the 24-hour blood-oxygen level of the body. It can also actively monitor all-day heart rate even when you are swimming. The watch also notifies the user in case of abnormally high or low heartbeat rate. To ensure efficiency, the user can test heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, stress level and breathing rate in a single tap of the watch.

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro also features in-depth monitoring of sleep and sleep breathing quality. The watch can:

Other health features on the watch include tracking of stress levels and the menstruation cycle. This watch also features a PAI health assessment that tracks everyday activities like cleaning or playing with kids.

Performance, connectivity and battery life

Amazfit GTR 3 Pro runs on Zepp OS and the watch is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. The user can download the Zepp app to connect their device to the watch. The device, however, should have either Android 7 or higher or iOS 12 or higher to be compatible with the watch.

Providing the power to the watch is a 450mAh battery which the company claims can last up to 12 days under normal use and six days under intensive use. The watch gets charged through a magnetic charger and will get fully charged in two hours. The battery on the watch will last up to 35 hours of continuous GPS use and 30 days in battery saver mode.

Other features

Along with 150+ sports modes and health features, Amazfit GTR 3 Pro also offers other interesting features. This watch features a built-in voice assistant Alexa and also an offline voice assistant to start your workout instantly. The offline voice assistant supports four languages- English, German, Chinese and Spanish.

The user can also enjoy music and receive calls on the watch itself. The user can control the music of their device or can store up to 470 songs on the watch itself. The user can also check the weather, sync the watch with the phone to receive emails and messages.

The watch also features a built-in barometric altimeter that keeps an eye on the altitude and air pressure of the user’s outdoor activity and supports GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, QZSS satellite navigation systems to accurately track the routes.

The price of the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro is Rs 26,499 for the black strap variant and Rs 26,999 for the brown strap variant.

Given the price, the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro competes with Huawei Watch GT2 Pro.

Verdict

Well, this is the best offering to date from Amazfit. The watch has a big and bright round AMOLED display and a wide range of activities, a diverse selection of watch faces and various sets of tracking metrics. It also offers a good battery backup and is durable as well.

Of course, Amazfit GTR 3 Pro does not offer features as the Galaxy Watch or Apple watch, but at this price range, it provides adequate features for the users.
