Kathmandu, May 26
Police have arrested a man for his alleged involvement in a five-year-old rape case.
The arrestee is Raj Kumar Khadka, then principal of Blooming Lotus English School in Itahari of the Sunsari district. A team deployed by the Nepal Police Central Investigation Bureau arrested him, according to SP Kamal Thapa.
He has been accused of raping his student for the first time at a hotel when he was taking her to a hospital for some treatment. Then, he had committed the crime multiple times threatening the survivor of expelling her from the school if she spoke out.
After a girl exposed her story of surviving a rape case eight years ago last week, the survivor from Itahari had also followed suit.
SP Thapa says Khadka has been sent to the Sunsari District Police Office for further investigation and action.
