An Indian vehicle has hit an Indian man to death in Sarlahi, a bordering district in southern Nepal.
An India-registered Scorpio SUV (BR30P 9082) hit a Nepal-registered motorbike (Ja 10 Pa 1308) on Tuesday, killing Nek Mohammad (22), a resident of Sitamarhi of India, according to police.
SP Pravin Pokharel of the District Police Office says 12-year-old Aslam Safi, a resident of Malangawa municipality-9 of the district, has sustained injuries in the incident.
Police say the vehicle was used in the election campaign of the Nepal Samajbadi Party Chairman Mahendra Raya Yadav, the candidate for the November 20 House of Representatives elections in Sarlahi 2 on behalf of the ruling alliance.
Police impounded the vehicle involved in the accident, but the driver is on the run.
