Kathmandu, December 16
Twenty-five people graduated the from Nabil Bank-led Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship (Nabil SSE) on December 11.
Nirvana Chaudhary, vice chairman of Nabil Bank, handed over certificates to participants in the ‘Reflection and Celebrations Certificate Distribution Program’ held at Campion College.
Chaudhary, in his keynote speech, congratulated all Nabil SSE participants and mentioned how this would pave way for them to make a difference in society.
Stating that entrepreneurs are not born but made, Chaudhary said, “I hear youths discussing various ideas and business plans. However, due to a lack of proper mentorship and direction, their ideas don’t turn into reality. The initiation that Nabil took a year ago is now making difference in the life of young people providing the direction and platform.”
Nabil Bank, under its CSR initiative, introduced the Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship Program in November 2021 in collaboration with academic institutions in all seven provinces of Nepal.
According to the bank, a 14-day long training spread over a 3-month period on Social Entrepreneurship provided training on four themes — knowledge enhancement, skill-set, mindset and resources — in a practical approach.
The course provided the participants with an opportunity to learn from the entrepreneur’s experience, experts in the field, field visits, case studies and workshops.
Bhupendra Pandey, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Nabil Bank said that Nabil is always ready to support start-ups, and small and medium enterprises in terms of providing education, enhancing financial literacy and supporting them financially.
Mahesh Sharma, one of the students, thanked Nabil SSE for providing a learning platform and giving direction to his idea. He along with his other two like-minded friends started Art Sewa, a business that works towards promoting local Mithila art by engaging local women to produce various products. He said that the program inspired him to do something of his own and contribute to society through entrepreneurship.
