The special train scheduled to depart for Ayodhya, where the consecration ceremony of the newly built Ram Temple was set to take place, has been cancelled.
The train was cancelled after India did not give permission citing security reasons.
On Saturday morning, Niranjan Jha, the manager of Nepal Railway Company, announced that arrangements had been finalised for the departure of a 20-coach Indian train from Janakpur, following approval from the relevant authorities. He mentioned that ticket bookings were made available starting at 4 pm on Saturday.
On Saturday evening, the railway company announced the cancellation of the special train service.
Ranjit Thakur, the chief administrative assistant of Janakpur Railway, stated that the train service to Ayodhya was cancelled due to the Indian government not granting permission.
