Janakpurdham, April 19
An elderly man died in a motorcycle accident in Dhanusa. The deceased is 65-year-old Ram Ratan Mandal of Videh Municipality-7 Belapatti in Dhanusha.
The pedestrian was hit by a motorcycle with no number plate on Thursday evening. Dhanush police spokesperson DSP Ranjan Awa informed that Mandal, who was seriously injured in the collision, died during treatment at Sita Hospital Janakpur.
He said that the hit-and-run motorcycle was found in a thicket-like place located in Ward No 6 of Videh Municipality at 11 pm. According to DSP Awa, the motorcycle numbered 02-007 Pa 2943 was driven by 30-year-old Rohit Mandal of Videh Municipality 6 and he absconded.
The body has been kept at Janakpur Provincial Hospital for post-mortem and further investigation into the incident is being conducted, District Police Office Dhanusha said.
