Kathmandu, April 2
A teachers’ protest has disrupted traffic management from New Baneshwor to Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu.
Teachers took to the streets on Wednesday, demanding the enactment of the School Education Act. The rally, organised under the leadership of the Teachers’ Federation, started from various locations in Kathmandu and converged at Maitighar Mandala, where it turned into a sit-in demonstration.
As a result, traffic management in the area has been severely affected.
According to the protesting teachers, 800 volunteers have been deployed to ensure the demonstration remains peaceful.
