The National Examination Board, Examination Control Office (Grade 10) has announced the results of the Secondary Education Examination (SEE). Out of the total students who participated, only 47.86 per cent have passed.
A remarkable 186 students achieved a 4.0 GPA.
According to the results released by the office, out of 464,785 students who took the exam, only 242,092 students are eligible to enrol in Grade 11. This means that 52.14 per cent of the participants received a non-graded (NG) result.
This year, the board published the results following the Letter Grading Directive, 2078 BS, which assesses theoretical and internal evaluations separately. Students must score a minimum of 35 per cent in each subject on the theoretical side.
For subjects with a theoretical exam of 75 marks, a minimum of 26.25 marks is required, and for the internal assessment of 25 full marks, students need to score at least 10 marks, which is 40 per cent. The results have been published by converting the scores in both theoretical and internal assessments into grades.
Students who fail to score 35 per cent (26.25 marks out of 75) in the theoretical exams will have NG (Non-Graded) mentioned on their certificates and will not be allowed to enrol in Grade 11 without taking the grade improvement exam.
Additionally, students must score at least 10 marks in internal assessments and 26.25 marks in theoretical exams for each subject to receive their main certificate. However, they are allowed to take improvement exams in up to two subjects.
Students who fail to secure a minimum of 35 per cent in more than two subjects and those who fail to achieve 35 per cent even after taking the grade improvement exam will have to retake the exams for the NG subjects the following year.
