Kathmandu, October 2
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has warned of heavy rainfall from today in several areas, including Bagmati and Koshi, and urged the public to exercise high caution.
The authority has forecasted heavy rain until October 4 and issued an alert for necessary precautions. “Due to the intense rainfall since September 26, the ground in many places has become saturated. Even minor additional rain could trigger large landslides, and there is a risk of sudden floods in any river,” the authority stated in its notice.
The authority has also advised travellers to be vigilant. In case of heavy rain, the public is urged to halt vehicles at safe locations and assess risks before continuing their journey.
