New Nepal cricket coach Stuart Law to arrive Friday

Kathmandu, April 22

Newly appointed head coach of the Nepal national cricket team, Stuart Law, is set to arrive in Nepal this Friday, April 25, according to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

Law was appointed head coach on March 28, and will be arriving nearly a month after his appointment. In the interim, former national captain Gyanendra Malla served as acting coach during the recent T20I quadrangular series in Hong Kong.

The 56-year-old Law has signed a two-year contract starting April. His appointment follows the end of Monty Desai’s tenure in January, which was not renewed.

A seasoned coach, Law has previously led national teams from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, West Indies, Afghanistan, and the USA. He was also part of the Australian squad that finished runners-up in the 1996 Cricket World Cup.

Law becomes the second Australian to coach the Nepali national team, following Dav Whatmore, who took the helm in 2021.
