UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon says he wants to visit Nepal to attend the international Buddhist conference being organised in May, according to a minister who met him in New York recently.

Tourism minister Anandaprasad Pokhrel said Ban expressed curiosity about Nepal’s master plan for the Lumbini area, and recalled his visit there when he was in Nepal.

Minister Pokhrel, who returned to Kathmandu from the US today, said he thanked Ban for his remarks, and said he was looking forward to welcoming him in Nepal.
