New York, May 1
Come September, a wide range of Nepali products will be on display in Manhattan, the heart of New York.
World Business Management and Consultant is organising the Nepal exhibition and international trade fair in Manhattan. The organiser says it will be the biggest ever Nepali trade fair organised abroad.
Farm products from Nepal, Nepali herbs, thangka, pashmina, coffee, Nepal’s cultural artefacts, Palpali Dhaka, sutho (dried ginger), khukuri, Nepali idols and jewellery will be on display, Buddhi Prasad Regmi, WBMC chief, said.
Entrepreneurs from around the world will take part in the trade fair meant to expand the market for Nepali products worldwide, Regmi said. Seventy per cent of the participants will be from Nepal and the rest will be from other countries, he said.
WBMC is working in close coordination with stakeholders like the government of Nepal, FNCCI and Nepal Chamber of Commerce to make the fair successful.
The fair comes at a time when the United States has announced tax concessions for products from Nepal in a bid to boost the Nepali economy, which has suffered huge losses due to the Indian Blockade and last year’s quakes.
