Child wounded, property worth Rs 25 lakh destroyed in Lahan gas cylinder explosion, fire

A child sustained injuries and property worth around Rs 2.5 million got destroyed when a cooking gas cylinder exploded and caused fire at Lahan municipality-8, Siraha district, on Tuesday.

The explosion at the two-storey concrete house of Surya Narayan Sahu sparked fire, destroying cash and properties.

Police estimated the losses resulting from the fire at Rs 24.95 lakh, identifying the injured as Anjali Kumari Sah (12), daughter of Narendra Bahadur Sah, a local. She is receiving treatment at a local hospital, police informed.

Police personnel and local people had extinguished the fire with help from a fire engine.
