Jaleshwor (Mahottari), Nov 24
The service of the Provincial Hospital has been affected due to a shortage of doctors. This has resulted after three in-service doctors resigned en masse. Orthopedic Dr Saroj Bhagat said that they resigned because they did not receive a salary, allowances and other benefits.
The hospital receives on average 200 patients every day. One of them, Anil Kumar Sah of Jaleshwor-2 said that they were affected due to the lack of specialist doctors. Meanwhile, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Prabhat Kumar Gami, admitted that service was affected after the resignation of three doctors and said that he was working towards resolving the problem.
He said that continuous discussions are underway with the Hospital Management Committee, the Madhesh government and the Ministry of Health to resolve the issue. Gami expressed confidence that the resigned doctors would be provided with their due salaries for the month of Asad and to arrange the remaining amount as soon as possible.
