Dang, April 14
Another fire has engulfed Deukhuri of Dang, three days after fire in ward numbers 8 and 6 of Gangaparaspur VDC destroyed 66 houses and 45 sheds. Seven houses and sheds were destroyed when Simalkhutti of Rajapur VDC-4 caught fire on Thursday, Narendra Bhandari, a local, informed.
The fire raging at the Kajol community forest spread to Simalkhutti at around 12.45 pm. The fire has destroyed houses and sheds belonging to Rammaya Gharti, Niraj Gharti, Ash Bahadur Gharti and Obi Ram Gharti, apart from claiming 40 goats. Local people, members of the community forest users’ group and police personnel are trying to extinguish the flames. On April 10, 12 houses were destroyed in a fire at Khidki of Rajpur.
