Lighting strikes kill 4 in Baglung and Dang

Kathmandu, June 25

Lighting strikes in different parts of Nepal killed four people on Saturday.

Two children died in Baglung after a house was struck by lightning in Dhorpatan municipality. Chitra Bahadur BK’s children, Dinesh, 6, and Sunita, 9, died due to the lightning strike, informed DSP Mandan KC.

Chitra Bahadur’s wife Yam Kumari BK was injured in the incident. Their buffalo also died after being struck by lightning.

Two others in Dang died after being struck by lightning. Police inspector Nawaraj KC said the deceased were Ramnarayan Chaudhary and Samir KC of Dangisharan rural municipality. Both of them died while undergoing treatment at Rapti Provincial Hospital Tulsipur.

Lighting strikes also killed 45 sheep in Furkerukh Kharka of Annapurna rural municipality. Prakash Jaisi of the Animal Services Branch of the rural municipality confirmed that 45 sheep died due to a lightning strike in the early hours of Saturday morning.
