Birgunj, December 15

CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has warned that the next government to be formed under the leadership of leftist alliance might revoke significant decisions taken by the incumbent government as the current Cabinet has already been reduced to the caretaker position after recent polls.

Suggesting the government’s preparations to appoint province chiefs, Nepal says the government can take such decisions only after consulting major parties if there is any constitutional need.

“The Deuba-led government should not make any decision about appointment, transfer or promotion,” Nepal said while speaking with journalists in Birgunj today, “If there is any constitutional compulsion, the leftist alliance should be consulted  as it is preparing to form the new government.”

“Otherwise, we should not be compelled to comply with such decisions.”

Meanwhile, Nepal said there was no difference in the alliance over who should lead the government.

He claimed the new government would give a due priority to development of Terai region.
