Xiaomi has been one of the most popular names in the smartphone industry in Nepal recently. Focusing on the middle section of the smartphone market, the company has successfully gathered a huge number of users in very little time.
In the mid-range category, it is hard for even a big company like Samsung to compete with Xiaomi. When Xiaomi launched Mi 10T Lite last year, it probably was the best smartphone in its price category. Similarly, this year, it has launched a mini version of its flagship phone MI 11, which is Mi 11 Lite. So, let’s see what the new updates are and what Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Lite is providing to all its user this time.

Display and design
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite features a 6.55-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a left-aligned punch-hole cutout. The panel has a 10-bit colour depth and supports the DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. The typical brightness here is 500 nits, but it can go up to 800 nits in the high brightness mode (HBM). The display has a refresh rate of 90Hz while a touch sampling rate of whooping 240Hz. The display of this phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The camera module on the back looks similar to the flagship Mi 11. The phone is marketed as a featherweight with an elegant and sleek design. The phone is just 6.81 mm thick and weighs around only 157 grams. This can make Mi 11 Lite one of the slimmest and lightest smartphones in Nepal.
Camera
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite flaunts a triple camera setup at the back. The 64MP primary camera uses a 6P lens with an f/1.79 aperture. Accompanying it is an 8MP sensor with a 119º field of view. And, a 5MP sensor that has a telemacro lens. It can focus on objects between 3 and 7cm distance. The camera can record videos in 4K, but only up to 30fps. There are some interesting video modes on the phone like magic zoom, slow shutter, night time-lapse, freeze time, parallel world, and freeze-frame video. You can also record a time-lapse manually on this phone.
On the front, there is a 16 MP selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture that can record videos only up to 1080p.
Performance and battery life
Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite runs on Android 11 with MIUI 12 on top and is powered by Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G. It is a 4G chipset that is also used in the Redmi Note 10 Pro (Max). Users have the option to choose between 6GB and 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Similarly, storage options include 64GB and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The memory can be expanded with a micro SD card, but you will have to sacrifice a sim slot for that.
The phone gets its power from a moderate 4,250mAh non-removable battery, which supports 33W fast charging. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include wifi 5, Bluetooth 5.1, and 4G connection. The phone has a dual speaker setup with Hi-Res Audio. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack onboard.
The price of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite in Nepal is Rs 34,999 for the 6/128GB configuration. That is the only variant of the phone announced for Nepal right now while you have the color option of Boba black, Peach Pink, Bubblegum Blue to choose from.
