Muglin-Pokhara road: 73-km paved in eastern section

As part of the Muglin-Pokhara Road project, 73.11 kilometers of road have been paved in the eastern section so far. This stretch, from Ambukhaireni to Jamune in Tanahu, includes both four-lane and two-lane paved roads.

According to Engineer Bishnu Prasad Pandey, 34.98 kilometers of the four-lane section and 3.15 kilometers of the two-lane section have been completed. He mentioned that, when considering the two-lane portions, the total paved length is 73.11 kilometers.

As of February 28, the physical progress of this section stands at 78.95%, with financial progress at 59.25%. In the four-lane section, 20.16 kilometers have received final paving, while 12.32 kilometers have been paved in the two-lane section. Paving work has also begun in Damauli, the district headquarters, where one side of the road is complete, and work on the other side is underway.

The project was contracted in 2020, and construction began on April 14, 2021. China Communications Construction is overseeing the eastern section. The road is being expanded to four lanes with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the contract for this section is worth Rs 6.21 billion.

Meanwhile, construction of the Madi River bridge connecting wards 4 and 5 of Byasa Municipality is 65.07% complete. The bridge, which will have six spans and stretch 315 meters, is expected to be finished within three years. The bridge contract was awarded to ZISt Annak JV for Rs 1.21 billion.
