Nepali music videos shine alongside box office hits: Five must watch releases

Recently, some Nepali movies have gained remarkable popularity. The Nepali film industry, which was in crisis for a long time, has seen significant changes recently. Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi earned over Rs 400 million within three weeks of its release. It is a historic achievement for the Nepali cinema industry. Similarly, other recent releases, such as Chhakka Panja 5 and 12 Gaun, have also earned millions.

Well, It’s not just movies that are thriving; some recently released Nepali music videos are also gaining notable attention due to their high-quality production.

Here are five recently released Nepali music videos that you must watch.

Badal Sari

Fuzz Factory has always been known for its quality video production works and this time too, with the release of the new music video of Badal Sari, they have continued the legacy.

The music video for Badal Sari is a delightful surprise package. The song features a unique collaboration between Swar and singer John Rai, with the video starring John Rai and popular gamer/streamer CR7 Horaa. Released on November 24, the video has already surpassed two million views as of November 22, leaving viewers amazed.

Produced by Fuzz Factory Production, the music video for Man Ta Marisakyo tells the story of two childhood friends growing up together. Its nostalgic narrative strikes a chord with many viewers, evoking memories of their past.

Mann Ta Marisakyo

Leaving a country by the young one for a better opportunity has become widespread in Nepal. Hundreds of youths are seen at the airport bidding farewell to their family and friends daily. While many of the youth leave the country with their choice, some want to stay in the country and do something in the homeland, but their family want them to leave the country. It is not always an individual choice, sometimes it is because of the family pressure the youth have to leave the country.

The family thinks that there is no hope or better opportunity in the country. If their children go abroad their (children) life will progress. But that is not true at all. The music video for Man Ta Marisakyo by Pariwartan powerfully portrays the harsh realities of life abroad, shattering the illusion of ease and beauty often depicted in photographs.

This heart-wrenching video, produced by Phonton Films, resonates deeply, particularly with youth who have left their homeland under family pressure, leaving viewers teary-eyed with its tragic and relatable narrative.

Bhawana

Bhawana, a music video by Rockheads, directed by Rob Films, captivates viewers with its intriguing storyline—one best experienced without spoilers. Basically, the story is of two female protagonists who are going through a complex situation.

Both the protagonists of the music video Bhawana, played by Rajasi and Maya, played by Rejina Basnet have done a commendable job. As a result, they are earning a lot of appreciation from the viewers.

So far the song has crossed over 500,000 views on YouTube.

Raiya Chandiko

Raiya Chandiko comes from the record-breaking movie Purna Bahadur ko Sarangi. The film, currently in its third week, has surpassed expectations, earning over Rs 400 million—a historic achievement for Nepali cinema, marking the first time a Nepali movie has amassed such an impressive box office collection.

The video of Raiya Chandiko is a lively portrayal of a traditional dohori battle, where a spirited exchange of witty verses takes between a team of males and females. The music is a complete entertainment package, blending humour and rhythm that can make viewers laugh and dance simultaneously.

Bardali

Sushant KC’s and Indrakala Rai’s music video of Bardali, directed by Anjon Limbu, is all about joy and celebration. The colourful setting of the video captures moments of happiness, weaving vibrant visuals with a festive atmosphere.
