Nepal’s state-owned electricity utility has cut power supply to the residence of former queen mother Ratna Rajyalaxmi Shah citing non-payment of dues.
According Nepal Electricity Authority Managing Director Mukesh Raj Kafle, Shah, who has been living inside the Narayanhiti Palace’s Mahendra Manjil, needs to pay Rs 3.5 million to the utility.
Authorities say power will be restored to her residence only after the dues are cleared.
