Kathmandu, September 9
Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday described incumbent Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s recent address to the Parliament as the peacock dance.
In the peacock dance, artistes dressed as peacocks perform, Oli, chair of the main opposition CPN-UML, said while addressing a programme that the UML’s Youth and Sports Department had organised in Kathmandu.
In an oblique reference to the Prachanda government, he said: Apple products have ‘Designed in California, Made in China’ written on them. Just like that, this administration was designed somewhere else, but was assembled in Nepal. It is not a good sign.
In his address on Thursday, PM Prachanda pointed that Nepal’s relations with India worsened when I was Prime Minister, Oli said.
Oli said: When I was PM, there was a blockade and Madhesh was on fire. During my tenure, the blockade ended and the Madhesh Movement also became a thing of the past.
He then challenged PM Prachanda to sign a better deal with India in the interest of the country.
“But the peacock dance will not be enough,” he said.
