CPN-ML has protested against the 25-point joint communique that Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi issued at the end of the former’s recent visit to India.

Thursday’s standing committee meeting of the party condemned the communiqué pointing that it has violated Nepal’s independence and sovereignty.

After the meeting, party Chair CP Mainali issued a statement saying: The communiqué states that Nepal will align its views on international bodies like the United Nations with that of India. It points that Nepal will help India in its bid to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council. Such provisions have pushed Nepal into adopting a foreign policy against its national interest.

By agreeing on joint monitoring and supervision of India-assisted projects, Prime Minister Prachanda has accepted India’s domineering policy vis-a-vis Nepal

The party pointed that by agreeing on joint monitoring and supervision of India-assisted projects, Prime Minister Prachanda has accepted India’s domineering policy vis-a-vis Nepal.

PM Prachanda has concluded that India’s demands on amendment in Nepal’s Constitution are justified, the party said, adding: Through this posturing, PM Prachanda has let a foreign force meddle with Nepal’s internal affairs and harmed Nepal’s territorial integrity.
