Kathmandu, October 26
Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority has fired Adhya Shree, daughter of suspended CIAA Chief Lokman Singh Karki, and 10 other ‘experts’, stating that it no longer requires their service.
CIAA leadership took this step following discussions between commissioners. With Chief Commissioner suspended and facing an impeachment motion in the Parliament, Dip Basnyat is heading the constitutional anti-corruption agency.
According to a source, CIAA has shown the door to senior advocate Komalprakash Ghimire, Balchandra Acharya, Bhanubhakta Pokharel and Karunakar Mallik. They all were working as CIAA’s legal advisers.
‘Research experts’ Madhav Khatri, Bharat Sharma, Keshav Kharel and Govardhan Shrestha have lost their jobs and so have ‘finance expert’ Ramhari Aryal, ‘communications expert’ Sharad Adhikari and ‘land reforms expert’ Hupendra Mani KC.
The source said Adhya Shree, ‘medical expert’ and daughter of CIAA Chief Karki, has lost her job and so has ‘health expert’ Nil Mani Upadhyaya.
