Kathmandu, March 25
Police have arrested Niraj Kumar Chaudhary of Hetaunda, Makwanpur district, on the charge of leaking his former lover’s objectionable pictures through social media. Chaudhary and the victim (codenamed Kathmandu 26), had come to know each other through Facebook. Also known as Niraj Baba, Chaudhary remained in constant contact with the girl while he was in Saudi Arabia.
He later left the Gulf country and came to Kathmandu, where he had an affair with the girl, according to police.
The woman tried to keep a distance from Chaudhary when she came to know that he was married. The girl was shocked when she came to know that he had drugged her while staying in a hotel and taken objectional pictures.
On the basis of these pictures, Chaudhary started blackmailing her by uploading such pictures on Facebook and emailing them to friends. He would exploit the girl sexually by calling her at different places.
All this came to the fore when the victim came to lodge a complaint against Chaudhary at the Nepal Police’s Central Investigation Bureau.
Based on her complaints, police nabbed Chaudhary from Hetaunda. Police said they have lodged a case against the youth under the Electronic Transactions Act, adding that an investigation is underway. Suspecting that the youth may have exploited other women as well, the CIB has called on other victims, if any, to lodge complaints, Superintendent of Police Tarini Prasad Lamsal said.
