Mahottari, August 22
At least 10 people have been injured following a row between Muslims observing the Eid festival in Mahottari, on Wednesday morning
Police said that rival groups clashed inside the mosque located in Loharpatti Gaunpalika-3 at around 8 am. The injured have been rushed to the hospital and they are out of danger.
District Police Office Mahottari said that the clash ensued after rival groups insisted that their priest lead the prayers on the auspicious day. Police restorted to firing two rounds in the air to disperse the crowd.
Following the incident, police brought the two sides to talk and reach a settlement.
