Kathmandu, February 16
Subaj Baniya and Bhimsendas Pradhan have filed their candidacy for Nepali Congress Kathmandu district leadership. Although four leaders had said they would run for the post, only Baniya and Pradhan filed their candidacy.
Narottam Baidhya and Rajulal Joshi, both of who had said they would contest, have announced they will back Baniya for the post. Of the 10 constituency chiefs in Kathmandu, nine have already said they will support Baniya.
Similarly, three have filed their candidacy for the post of secretary. From the Baniya camp, Raj Kumar Nakarmi has filed his nomination while Arjun Parajauli has announced his candidacy with support from the Pradhan camp.
Pranay Singh Munna, who has not declared allegiance to any of the camps, has also registered his candidacy for secretary.
The election is on Wednesday.
