Kathmandu, February 28
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kamal Thapa, is embarking on his fourth visit to India after joining the KP Oli government that took charge on October 12, 2015.
DPM Thapa is leaving for India on March 9 to take part in a religious assembly that Indian spiritual guru Ravi Shankar is organising, according to Thapa’s private secretariat. Thapa’s press adviser Mohan Shrestha said it is a pre-scheduled programme.
After India imposed an undeclared blockade against Nepal, Thapa had met India’s Minister for External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj. India had eased the embargo after amendment to the constitution as per a four-point roadmap that Thapa had presented in Delhi.
Thapa is coordinator of the political mechanism formed to address disputes related to provincial boundaries. The United Democratic Madheshi Front has not recognised the mechanism.
