Kathmandu, April 22
Federal Alliance (a group of 27 Madhesh-centric and pro-Janjati parties) is set to announce fresh protests on Friday afternoon.
According to the alliance, a press conference is being organised at Forum Nepal’s office in Tinkune later in the afternoon to announce fresh rounds of agitation against the “discriminatory” constitution.
The development comes a day after leaders of the alliance met representatives of foreign missions based in Kathmandu to brief them on the alliance’s protest plans.
The Madheshi Morcha, which is a part of the alliance, had given the government a mid-April deadline to address its demands. It says that not only has the government failed to address the demands, it has also not shown any intention to do so.
