Kathmandu, July 28
Monsoon-induced disasters, which have left behind a trail of death and devastation in the country, have finally woken up Nepal’s political leadership from slumber, it appears.
CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on Thursday expressed sadness over loss of life and property resulting from monsoon-inducted flooding and landslides. He appealed the government to step up rescue and relief distribute efforts.
Prachanda asked the party’s subordinate units to mobilise actively for the rescue of victims caught in flooding and landslides and distribute relief to them. Moreover, he appealed members of the public to join in rescue and relief efforts.
Prachanda also paid tributes to those, who have lost their lives in flooding and landslides, and extended condolences to bereaved families.
