Kathmandu, September 26
Nepal Airlines, the flag-carrier, has started the process for the procurement of two new wide-body Airbus planes.
With the government acting as the guarantor, the Provident Fund is providing the flag-carrier a loan of Rs 25 billion.
NA plans to operate along international sectors, including Japan and Korea, after the procurement of the two wide-body planes.
The flag-carrier has invited tender for aircraft procurement. Airbus and airline companies, among others, can bid within 45 days.
It plans to bring in the first aircraft within a year and 1.5 years, respectively.
Currently, NA has two Boeings and two narrow-body Airbus planes.
