Kathmandu, January 24
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Andrew Parmley, Lord Mayor of the City of London, held talks in Singhadurbar on Tuesday. During the talks, Parmley inquired about implementation of Nepal’s Constitution and post-quake reconstruction work.
On his part, Prime Minister Dahal said his focus is on Constitution implementation, political stability, development and economic prosperity. The talks also dwelt on British assistance to Nepal, including possible British investment in the development of hydropower projects in Nepal.
PM Dahal asked the British official for British investment in mega projects in the hydropower sector, pointing that his government is working for the creation of an investment-friendly environment in Nepal.
PM also held talks with former president of Mauritius, Cassam Uteem, at his official residence in Baluwatar. Uteem praised Nepal’s peace process and the beginning of a new political process after conclusion of the peace process.
Uteem said Nepal’s peace process is an example for the whole world, adding: We are willing to exchange such experiences internationally.
PM Dahal expressed his thanks to the international community for its goodwill towards Nepal’s peace process. Dahal said they are implementing the Constitution by institutionalising recent achievements.
