Panchthar, February 2
Property worth Rs 45 lakh was gutted when a house caught fire at Ranitar, Panchthar district, at 8 pm on Wednesday night.
DB Gurung, a teacher, informed that the house of Gore Mukhiya caught fire due to short circuit. Gurung said huge losses occurred because a shop was also based in the house. A team of security personnel equipped with a fire engine belonging to Fidim municipality had rushed to Ranitar to extinguish the flames.
The Mukhiya family comprising nine members is taking refuge in a neighbour’s house.
