
Kathmandu, June 18
Candidates to contest the second phase of local level elections in provinces 1, 5 and 7 are filing nominations today as per the schedule published by the Election Commission.
The nominations can be filed from 8 am to 4 pm today at election offices in respective local bodies, according to the Commission.
Total 334 local units including one metropolitan city, seven sub-metropolitan cities, 111 municipalities and 215 rural municipalities will go to the polls on June 28.
Total 6 million and 432,765 voters will cast their votes to elect 15,038 representatives in these three provinces.
The Commission will establish 364 voting centres.
Whereas provinces 3, 4 and 6 have already completed the polls on May 14, the elections in Province 2 have been scheduled for September 18.
