Rolpa, June 28
The Thawang village in Rolpa district, which had boycotted the second Constituent Assembly elections in 2013, witnessed an exciting fervour among voters during the second phase of local level elections on Wednesday.
As of 12:00 pm today, around 50 per cent votes have been cast, says Returning Officer Kamal Bahadur Bista.
There are total 5,853 voters in Thawang.
Cadres of the CPN Maoist party led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ had also filed nominations for the polls in the village as independent candidates though the party had announced the boycott and had been carrying out anti-election activities across the country.
The villages had sent all the ballot boxes empty during the 2013 polls.
