Kathmandu, October 11
The CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal says destroying an existing party and forming a new one out of it is the essence of Marxism and he will do the same with the proposed unification with the CPN-UML.
“Every time, I destroyed an old party to make a new one. I destroyed old movements and adopted new forms,” he says, “I and our party understood Marxism in this way.”
Speaking at a function organised to announce the unification of CPN-United with his party, Dahal added, “Now, the Maoist Centre is being destroyed and a new party, a new force, is being born.”
He said, “Despite unfavourable international context, the leftist movement in Nepal is aggressive, but not defensive. More than two third people are leftists. A new model of socialism can be developed in the 21st century from Nepal by unifying and centralising those people. Such a possibility objectively exists in only Nepal today.”
On the occasion, he also called other parties also to join the unification movement.
