Kathmandu, April 22
Ruling coalition partner CPN-Maoist Centre has concluded that it is too early to decide and announce the date for the unification of the CPN-UML and the Maoist Centre.
The party says the process may take one or more months to get complete as there are many disagreements within the UML over crucial issues.
A meeting of the party’s Central Office held in Kathmandu today ended with the conclusion that unification, however, was a must, according to the party’s spokesperson Pampha Bhusal.
During the meeting, party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had briefed leaders about the progress made towards the unification so far. He told the meeting that discussions were positive about ideological, political and organisational issues of the unified party.
Responding to Dahal, other leaders of the party also opined that the unification was the need of the hour as it was already endorsed by the people’s mandate.
